2018 Classic Finalists Back for More as are Walsh, Madsen & Co.

Two of the 2018 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic A-Main Starters are amongst the latest batch of Classic entries, which also include World of Outlaws Contracted Star Ian Madsen and Sydney based hot shot Sammy Walsh.

Timboon’s Luke Walker aboard his Total Dairy Service, KRE powered Cool Chassis out shone many of his rivals to be amongst the 24 finalists last January. His 22nd place finish was an outstanding result for Walker and his team.

The young hard charger will look to repeat the dose in 2019 for his sponsors Total Dairy Service, Engineer IT, South West Sheds and Homes and Battery World Warrnambool.

Like Walker, Tasmanian hard charger Tim Hutchins was another of the feel-good stories of the 2018 edition of the Classic.

Finishing 19th in the A-Main was a career best for Hutchins and his team, after many years of misfortune at the Classic.

In 2019 Hutchins will again be back, his never say die attitude packed in his race bag, as he goes about making a second successive Classic final for his team’s partners GBE Maintenance Services, Zeehan, Essendon Volkswagen and Warrnambool Locksmith’s.

Having contracted full-time to the grueling World of Outlaws Tour in 2018, Ian Madsen returns home for a whirlwind Australian tour.

His 2018 season saw Madsen record a win in the penultimate A-Main of the season at The Dirt Track at Charlotte as a part of the World Finals event.

His consistency was rewarded with an 8th place finish in the World of Outlaws driver points, with 8 top five’s and 31 top ten results.

During the Knoxville Nationals in August Madsen again qualified for the Saturday 50-lap A-Main bringing home an 11th place finish. He also finished 11th in the Speed Sport News Challenge as a part of the Friday night program.

At the Classic Ian Madsen will drive for car owner Jamie Matherson in the Morrison Race Engines powered KPC as they aim to put the N49 entry into the Classic final for their loyal supporters City Access Scaffolding, Sutton Electrical, Watson’s Express Transport and Kingloc Refrigeration.

Another of the Sydney entrants, Sammy Walsh, will be looking for an ounce of luck and an improved run at the Classic having finished 7th in B-Main 1 at the 2018 edition.

Walsh will come to Warrnambool for Rocket Industries, Fleck Earthmoving and Aeroflow Performance Products aboard the N92 Rider powered entry.

With talent to burn, Walsh is another who will be looking to be a part of the Big Dance come Sunday night.

A plethora of talented Eureka Sprintcar Series regulars including Eddie Lumbar in the Aus Brokers, Steel Pipes Australia, Roundabout Tyre Service and Lumbar’s Transport N36 will also be in the field for the Classic.

David Aldersley V64 (FTW Group, Buzard Engineering, Total Tools and Spray Chief), Kristy Ellis V12 (South West Conveyancing, Semi Trailer Sales, Ultimate Tyre and Auto and Combined Waste Services), Jamie Heyen V89 (Golden Acres, Cobram Panel Works, Katunga General Store, Ag Parts Peninsula, CBL Flooring, Tunnel Vision CCTV and Peninsula Commodore Wreckers) and Chris Campbell V78 (Dirt Worx and S & S Tyquin) are all back for more.

Classic Rookies Bobby Daly aboard the Transall Motors, Laser Line Marking, Willaton Group, Industrial Metal Recyclers, John Signs and Kelly Durkin Trucking V8 KRE Powered Cool and Leigh Mugavin in the NT22 entry as supported by Mugavin Contracting NT, Jet Pets Australia, Thomo’s race Graphix and Road Maintenance, Werribee will also be a part of the show along with former Formula 500 Star James Aranyosi.

Aranyosi will campaign the V56 ATR, Refrigerated Rentals, GGS bathroom Solutions, Geelong Transport Repairs, Octane Alley Race Engines, Deccie Racing, Facet Jewelry, Andy FX, BRATT Race Engineering and Borne Apparel backed Cool Chassis.

The 2019 47th edition of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, GJ Gardner Homes, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.
