This Saturday, November 16 features a pair of open-wheel winged divisions with the V8 360-LS Sprintcars and Formula 500’s on the program presented by traffic management specialist Go Traffic.
Nominations for both divisions have high quality fields. Current nominations for the 360-LS Sprintcars are at 26 with some great runners in the field to contest the opening round of the Welsh’s Garage Doors & Gates Track Championship presented by Dirt X Ind.
Warrnambool’s Jamie Veal, and Tasmanian Tate Frost are in the strong field joining regular 360-LS runners Brett Milburn, Michael Tancredi, Rusty Hickman, Chris Solomon, Ryan Davis and Dennis Jones.
Charles Hunter returns to the track while Jack Lee has his first competitive hit out of the season at Sungold Stadium.
The introduction of the LS-powered engines into the national division sees emerging talent such as the Storer brothers, Daniel and Luke from Portland, along with Harry Ross, Thomas McDonald and James Oliver.
Formula 500’s will contest the prestigious Jack Willsher Cup with reigning winner Tim Rankin amongst the twenty-eight nominations, in his attempt to score back-to-back wins. Current Victorian Champion Dale Sinclair along with local Dylan Willsher will mount a strong challenge for the win.
Sprintcar driver Rusty Hickman will perform double duty on the night while fellow competitor Terry Rankin returns to the venue in a Formula 500 after a great run in the Sprintcar at the opening event.
Public gates will open at 4.00 pm with on-track action commencing from 5.30 pm.
