Official Release: Premier Speedway
A double dose of Sprintcars returns to Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway this Saturday, March 16.
The event presented by Wheelie Waste features an all V8 powered program with Sprintcars, Pro Sprintcars and Super Rods set to do battle.
Sprintcars nominations to date are at twenty-seven, with more expected to roll in over the next few days.
The nominations already include a host of front runners with Warrnambool local and current Total Tools Warrnambool Track Championship points leader Jamie Veal certainly one of the leading contenders.
The current top three in the Total Tools Warrnambool Track Championship standings have all nominated with defending Champ Brock Hallett and Supercar star Cameron Waters looking to wrestle the almost season long lead Veal has held.
Former Australian Champion Jock Goodyer will perform double duties also competing in the Domain Ramsay owned Pro Sprintcar on the night.
Joining them in the field is Tasmanian Tate Frost who battled with Veal for the Victorian Title last weekend until striking engine problems. Queenslander Jy Corbett continues his rise in the ranks, after showing very strong early season form at Sungold Stadium.
Veteran racer Brett Milburn has turned back the clock and is in great form of late with two podiums in his last two starts. Daniel Pestka is fresh off a podium last weekend at the Ross Wright Memorial at Murray Bridge, while Jordan Rae is showing competitive form aboard the Harrison Swan owned V97 entry.
Then add in some great talent coming through with Ashley Cook, Parker Scott and more recently Formula 500 front runner Liam Russell commencing his Sprintcar career to throw open the field.
Pro Sprintcars will contest round 5 of the C&H Trucking Series. Similar to Sprintcars further nominations are expected with the field currently at twenty-one. Last season’s series runner up Andy Hibbert has nominated along with Josh Buckingham who is in superb form, crossing the line first in the last two rounds.
The field contains some 410 Sprintcar regulars including Dennis Jones and Jake Smith along with regular Pro Sprintcar competitors including Shane Steenholdt, Sam Wren, Steven Horton and Adam Greenwood, joined by Northern Territory duo Mark and Jamie Phillips.
It is fantastic to see Tim Van Ginneken back in a Sprintcar at Premier Speedway although Jock Goodyer will be had to turn past come feature time.
The annual Super Rod Cup rounds out the program which also doubles as Round 3 of the inaugural JD Race Parts Super Rod Track Championship.
A quality field is expected with current Victorian Champion and current JD Race Parts Track Championship leader, Jacob Pitcher expected amongst the nominations which are yet to be received.
